The Journey, Day by Day

Day One · Royal England — WINDSOR – THE COTSWOLDS. Our story begins where kings and queens have walked for centuries. Explore Windsor Castle, wander the history laden pathways, then journey into the peaceful beauty of the Cotswolds, where rolling hills, honey colored stone villages, and a warm welcome invite you to savor the beauty around you.Day Two · Scholarly England — OXFORD. Spend the day discovering Oxford’s ancient colleges, libraries, and hidden lanes where great thinkers once walked and penned great works. Linger in historic bookshops, enjoy a quiet afternoon exploring at your own pace, and gather over dinner in a traditional English pub.Day Three · Dramatic England — HIDCOTE – STRATFORD-UPON-AVON. Wander through one of England’s most beautiful gardens before exploring the thatch-patched homes along the streets and birthplace of William Shakespeare. Then, after dinner together, watch as the lights dim in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and centuries-old words come alive in the hands of extraordinary actors.Day Four · Pastoral England — THE COTSWOLDS – BLENHEIM PALACE. Breathe deeply and enjoy the English countryside you’ve always imagined—peaceful villages, winding lanes, welcoming cafés, open countryside, and pastures full of sheep. Explore the grandeur of Blenheim Palace, Winston Churchill’s birthplace, before one final relaxed evening beneath Cotswold skies.Day Five · Ancient England — BATH – GLASTONBURY – STONEHENGE. Journey through England’s ancient story, from the Roman Baths and Georgian streets of Bath to the legends and beautiful ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, ending among the timeless stones of Stonehenge. Along the way, discover the people, stories, and mysteries that have shaped this landscape for thousands of years. A day where history gives way to legend, mystery, and wonder.Day Six · Romantic England — CHAWTON – WINCHESTER. Follow Jane Austen’s footsteps from her beloved cottage in Chawton to Winchester Cathedral, where she rests today. Along the way, enjoy a slower rhythm, lingering over afternoon tea and exploring one of England’s most beautiful cathedral cities. It’s a day to slow down and savor the quieter side of England, surrounded by the countryside and stories Austen knew so well.Day Seven · Timeless England — HAMPTON COURT – RICHMOND. Our journey comes to a gentle close at Hampton Court Palace before an afternoon spent wandering the riverside town of Richmond, the city where Ted Lasso lived and worked. We’ll gather for one final dinner, celebrating a week of rich history, meaningful conversation, and reminiscing on our favorite moments of the week.

Albion Society members meet from January through May to get ready — Kings and Kingdoms, Writers and Dreamers, Village Life and English Charm, and a final travel meeting in May. Class attendance is required to join this trip, and membership starts at $10 a month.
